Safeguarders play an integral role within the Children’s Hearings System and contribute to the decision-making and outcomes for children and young people. The Safeguarders Panel Team values the commitment of Safeguarders and is dedicated to providing support and promoting best practices.

Safeguarder Service Review Survey

Children First is contracted by the Scottish Government to manage and operate the national Safeguarders Panel.  Over the past 4 years, the Safeguarders Panel Team have been carrying out a variety of activities to improve our practice and embed children’s human rights across our work. This has included moving to a regional model, a review of our policies, engagement with children and young people, and an update of our website and resources. As we come towards the end of the current contract, we would like to take this opportunity to reflect and quality assure the impact and changes.
